This week I revised two chapters of the Nineveh book as per Jenn’s fabulous critique. I also worked on updating and improving my query, one-sheet, and other submission and pitching materials for the upcoming writer’s conference. Then I listened to a bunch of vlogs by people from Denmark and exchange students in Denmark. I added 400 words of extra info from these vlogs to my story. Such brilliant things as: Danes are often tall and wearing black and riding bicycles. There is much graffiti in Copenhagen. It is illegal to spank your kids in Denmark. Dancing around the Christmas tree is important. And last but not least, one should always offer cake if a friend is having a bad day. Yum, cake! Oooh, and I looked up some yummy recipes for cakes from Denmark so that my heroine could eat something authentic…and perhaps me as well.
