This week I finished the first fourth of my short story and went back to revise it using critiques from the “would you read on first page critique” on the hartline literary agency site. Then I got out my Writing the Breakout Novel Workbook and started doing some of the exercises in order to improve my story. I got some good ideas for the ending as well as improving the beginning so using the book has been helpful on several fronts.
