Harrowing/Heartwarming Parent Moment of the Week

The Harrowing/Heartwarming Parent Moment of the Week

I think that our family has hit a milestone. There were very few natural disasters this week. What! You might say. There are always natural disasters, every week. Actually Sweet Boy #2 has been trying to earn a star every day by not making a huge mess. Sweet Boy #1 has been earning stars in school by obeying and if he gets 14 in a month he earns a prize. Well…Sweet Boy #2 would not be left behind and so he earns them by not making a mess. There was that one incident where climbed up onto our bathroom counter and dug gouges out of The Hunky Hubbies old spice deodorant with his fingernails, but besides that and some normal mud stomping he has been angelic.

Oooooh, I just remembered something. Sweet Boy #1 buried Sweet boy #3’s puddle boot in the camp volleyball court and then couldn’t find it. I dug and dug and couldn’t find it and told him that he would lose the privilege of picking the movie that evening if he didn’t come up with the boot. It is still gone. Who knew that one volley ball court could take on the proportions of the Gobi desert? Strange.

But yes, our life appears to be calming down. I am grateful…and slightly nestalgic. So glad that I wrote everything down here for us to all read. I would have never rememered it. Sigh. They are growing up.
