Harrowing/Heartwarming Parent Moment of the Week

The Harrowing/Heartwarming Parent Moment of the Week

Sweet boy #1 has had some high highs and low lows this week.

High–He dressed his brothers all by himself. It was his idea. We were getting ready for bed (real life description of purgatory) and I was rushing around trying to capture escaped children and pin them down, wipe their faces, and encase them in sleep friendly clothing. Well Sweet boy #1 (5.5) convinced his youngest brother (1.5) to let him dress him for bed. He put him in a onesie, snapped it completely, and put a snugly shirt and shorts onto him. They were both so proud they ran out to the living room and showed both the hunky hubby and myself their amazing feat. And then Sweet boy #2 wished to be dressed by his older brother as well and so Sweet boy #1 did it. Very cute and socially constructive.

Low–And yet Sweet boy #1 has also had trouble with properly directing his bodily fluids this week. He spit into his brother’s mouth. Yuck! Peed into a bowl and carried the aforementioned bowl around the house as an exhibit. Yuck. And the all time low. He got bored and peed on sweet boy #2! Double Yuck! And this is my tidiest child! Aaaarg. The pendulum swings so violently as a parent. Ah well.
