Harrowing/Heartwarming Parent Moment of the Week

The Harrowing/Heartwarming Parent Moment of the Week

Well, we had a few adventures with out puppy, Leia, this week. Like the time that I was driving the boys home from the bus stop and Leia oozed into the front of the car and shifted me into neutral. And then there was the time that I was all alone in the house and I heard “Blah, Blah, Blah!” from the hall. It was the “Blah Pen” which a friend gave to Sweet Boy#2 for his birthday. It says “Blah, Blah, Blah” in a very loud voice and in several different ways. But I was alone…who was activating the “Blah Pen?” It was Leia of course. She had stolen it out of a box and taken it to the top of the stairs to chew.

But the winner this week…

This actually caused our family a great deal of trauma. Sweet Boy#2 stayed up late on his birthday, putting his new legos together. Then we left Leia in the house the next day when we went down for church. When we came back, all was chaos. Someone had forgotten to push the benches under our dinning room table. Leia had promptly climbed on top of it and broken apart all of Sweet Boy#2′ legos! Much weeping and anger accompanied this discovery, as well as the very real concern that Leia might have snorked down a few vital pieces during the destruction. Thankfully nothing had been eaten and after much searching and sweeping all was found and Sweet Boy#2 put everything back together again. But yep, having a puppy is an adventure. Especially one who outweighs each of the boys, now that she cracks the scale at 70 pounds. Adventures indeed.
