Harrowing/Heartwarming Parent Moment of the Week

The Harrowing/Heartwarming Parent Moment of the Week

Lets see…

The two big boys took the cookies that they were enjoying for desert right before bedtime and put them on the floor and stomped them into ant sized bites so that they could vacuum them up. It was sweet boy #1’s idea. He loves to vacuum. But this was too much for our child friendly vacuum so I ended up having to do it. Aaaarg!

I, being terribly arachnophobic, did something that I never thought I was capable of. All three boys had been destroying a stump with sticks and encountered several bugs. I looked down and there on the face of my smallest boy was a big spider. I rushed to his rescue and swiped the offending Arachnid from his sweet cheek with my bare hand! Bravery, thy name is Kristen! He never even knew that it was there.

This a great victory after that time that I spotted a spider on the blanky my first baby was lying on and immediately fled across the lawn, only to realize that I had abandoned my wee offspring. Of course I returned and cautiously rescued him. But my personal cowardice was truly embarrassing.

But no longer, I have been a mom for enough years that my instincts to protect outweigh personal terror. Yeah me!

But the winner this week.

Thursday

Sweet Boy #2 (age 3.5)

Vomit–7 times

Diarrhea–16 times

1 brand new, king sized, pillow top mattress….

Need I say more?

Kristen

I promise you a crazed animal, a concussion, and a kiss in every single book...you're welcome!

hey did you know they are making a percy jackson and the olimpians movie??? next year! I think I will have to wait to read the book till then otherwise It will ruin the movie bu raising my expectations. 🙂 miss you

  • What season does the movie come out? We’ll have to go together…unless it’s summer. Aaarg!

  • Oh dear… will the mattress ever be the same? I hope there were some layers of sheets and blankets in between!

And congrats on the spider attack! We saw a fancy white one on a rose at your parent’s house last night and your mom said she was not a fan. I didn’t realize it was a somewhat hereditary fear.
