The Harrowing/Heartwarming Parent Moment of the Week

Sweet Boy#2–Accidentally gets toothpaste in Maggie’s (my mom’s new puppy) fur while trying to feed it to her.

The boys spend all of Sunday afternoon making huge trumpets out of stacks of paper and about a whole roll of tape.

I go inside to use the restroom and when I return…all 3 boys are gone. Not even within yelling distance. I find them down in a snowdrift in front of their Great Grandparents house whacking each other with broken tree limbs having a great time.

But the winner this week…

I was sick with some kind of cold/flu menace, and spend the day on the couch fighting stomach cramps and blowing my nose. Then the boys rush the house after school and Sweet Boy#1 is all gung ho to bring a science project he did at school into our home. He can do it himself he swears and proceeds to the kitchen where he mixes corn starch, food coloring, and water into a slimy and wonderful mixture that he promises to keep in a bowl on the dinning room table. I hear them having fun…a lot of fun. Not only does Sweet Boy#2 have the stuff in his hair, but they ran out of corn starch and added flour, accidentally spilled most of it onto the center of the table, then unperturbed by the  upset proceeded to ice skate barefoot on top of the dinning room table in the goop. All three of them. Yep, moms are not allowed to get sick…ever!
