The Harrowing/Heartwarming Parent Moment of the Week

There is no contest here. The winner this week…

I was in the hospital with Sweet Boy#1, he had been hooked up to an IV for several days and was starting to feel better. All of a sudden he stood up on his hospital bed and made a flying leap from the hospital bed over to the couch were my bed was. The problem, his IV was only so long and would have ripped out of his arm about half way between his bed and the couch. And so The Hunky Hubby grabbed him mid air. The other problem, his liver and spleen were irritated and swollen due to having Mono, and he is supposed to avoid recess and PE and bike riding and wrestling and everything fun for 2 months. So when The Hunky Hubby saved him it really really hurt. But I snagged the nurses and they pronounced him whole. Our Dr. just shook his head. I had warned him that when Sweet Boy#1 started feeling better, this whole hospital bed thing was going to become problematic. Sadly, I was all too correct.
