Harrowing/Heartwarming Parent Moment of the Week

The Harrowing/Heartwarming Parent Moment of the Week

Sweet Boy#1 and Sweet Boy#2 spent a fair amount of time in tears over who was going to wear the last good pair of puddle boots to school on Thursday morning. Ah, the post-AWANA-I-didn’t-get-sufficient-sleep blues.

On our hike Sunday, the dog was the weak link in our hiking chain. While the boys happily trudged on ahead of us, I hiked behind helping our grandpa dog get unstuck after he would hi-center himself trying to jump over logs.

Sweet Boy#2–We look away for a moment and by the time we glance back he has drawn a big pair of blue eyebrows on his face with a marker at church.

The winner this week…

Last night Sweet Boy#3 woke up with a bloody nose. He had wandered into our bed during the night. Blood on the sheets, blood on the pillowcase, blood all over my little boy. And what can you do for a bloody nose other than sit and hold it until it stops. (yes I have heard about the dime under the lip and ice cube…but I would like to challenge you to entice a four-year-old to allow you to put pressure under his lip, much less a dime) So we sat and sat and sat. Finally I lay down, still holding pressure on his nose. Finally it slowed down enough so that he could lay down while I held pressure on it. And finally in the wee hours of the morning his dripping nose stopped, over an hour after it began.

I promise you a crazed animal, a concussion, and a kiss in every single book...you're welcome!
