Reading Tai-Bo

This week I’m reading a historical YA about Japan during the very beginning of Westernization when the Emperor had just outlawed Samurai and baseball was just beginning to be played by young boys there. It has a boy who loves baseball who’s father was a Samurai and who wants to teach him the way of the warrior so that he can help him commit seppuku, but the boy wants to prove to his father that there is still a path of honor for him in the new Japan. Very interesting, well written, well researched, a good read.
