I was reading Hank the CowDog to my boys this week in our tent as we camped with the cousins. What did I learn…? That one really should have a Texas accent in order to read Hank the CowDog properly, and if one does not have such an accent, one is compelled by the book to fabricate one, with mixed results. Some books just sound like the person talking and you can actually hear them right next to you as you read. Hank is like that…even though he is a dog.
