Writing News

This week I received a much anticipated research book in the mail. Yes indeed, Cancun and the Yucatan for Dummies is formally part of our household and I have spent several happy minutes perusing its info filled pages.

Now I am privy to the knowledge that one should never bribe a Mexican police officer as the police force has recently instigated strenuous personal honesty testing for their members. This would of course have been my first instinct. I who take at least four millenia to figure out how much to tip and who answer questions like “Were you speeding mam?” with cryptic answers such as “Yes.” I would obviously be a sneaky and competent briber of public officials. But alas my chances of proving this talent have expired due to the new policy across the border. Sigh.

I promise you a crazed animal, a concussion, and a kiss in every single book...you're welcome!

I dont think mexico is one of those places I ever want to have contact with poliece..considering they can falely accuse you of somthing and throw you into jail. Nothing like a corrupt government to make things interesting?

Guess you’ve lost your opportunity forever. There is still hope, however. You could try bribing in another country, start out small and work up to something big and impressive. Perhaps you should wait until you’re quite a bit older, like your late 70s or maybe even 80s. Little old ladies don’t create much suspicion and are able to get away with more outrageous behavior. I am looking forward to that stage of life, for me, it’s just around the corner. For you, the wait is longer :>)

    Much love to you.

  • Mom, I am eagerly awaiting the day that you begin bribing police officers. The sister-in-law and I will definitely devote a writing exercise to that momentous occasion.
