Harrowing/Heartwarming Parent Moment of the Week

The Harrowing/Heartwarming Parent Moment of the Week

Things went better for us this week, due to my new policy to run screaming into the room if I hear so much as a solitary moment of calm silence or even the mildest giggle. That is not to say that we had absolutely no…um…excitement.

I heard a little voice shouting from the bathroom that one sentence that every parent is loath to hear: “Momma! (sweet boy #2) threw poop on the mirror!” Never good.

Then when I was disciplining Sweet Boy #1 for attempting to submerge my ironing board in the kitchen sink, Sweet Boy #2 and Sweet Boy #3 discovered and consumed two packs of Sweet Boy #1’s gum that he bought with his own $ on his “Daddy Day”. And they did all of this in under two minutes. Amazing.

An apple got placed into the coffee grinder. Pretty much a normal but thrilling week and due to angelic intervention I’m sure, these events were spread out and not packed into one day of destruction. Yeah!

But on the plus side we did invent a new snack together. They actually ate it and Sweet Boy #1 named them “Banana Asteroids”. First you slice a banana into little round pieces. Then you make a little sandwich with peanut butter between two of the slices and then you sprinkle brown sugar on the top. Yum! They are time consuming to make, but did I mention that they ate them and there is protein in them and everything.

I promise you a crazed animal, a concussion, and a kiss in every single book...you're welcome!

Sounds yummy to me! I sure had a great time with you all Thurs. and yesterday. The ‘craft time’ was over the top with creativity and excitement :0) Can’t remember the last time I’d ridden a saucer down a hill, small or large!

    Love to you.
