Harrowing/Heartwarming Parent Moment of the Week

The Harrowing/Heartwarming Parent Moment of the Week

This week our oldest competed in a math competition. He did really well. I got a note (at least I should have, my boy said there was a note  but somehow his backpack ate it) home from my middle boy’s school that he will also be competing in the local Math-Is-Cool competition. I’m so glad that they inherited their father’s head for numbers. So exciting to see my boys excel in something that gave me so much trouble and heartache during my school days. Our youngest is reading like a machine for their annual Read-Your-Heart-Out contest. I’ve started having him write down his own chapters on the heart-shaped sheets that he brings home as it takes so much time in the evening for me to do it on my own. Leia our puppy is also learning things along with her boys. This week marked the first time she was able to control herself and walk politely on lead when other dogs were present. Usually she spends a good deal of time lunging after Nuka, Frank, and Ricky (my brother’s dogs). But I guess she is growing up. So so glad! My arm was really starting to hurt after our walks.
