Harrowing/Heartwarming Parent Moment of the Week

The Harrowing/Heartwarming Parent Moment of the Week

Sweet Boy#1–Secretly lit a candle in the windowsill, then somehow turned a paper towel into a flaming ball of quilted paper that he couldn’t hold any longer, then dropped the flaming paper towel onto our carpet. And yep, I was right there. It all happened that fast. But I ran across the room and stomped the paper towel out with my pink fluffy slipper so no worries. And my darling son…he cleaned the bathroom for me.

Sweet Boy#1–Is over at camp and hangs a deflated innertube over the end of a skipole and is trying to wack his brother in the head…but the pole bounces back and hits the glass in one of the camps outer doors. The outside pane shatters into itsey bitsey pieces and suddenly all is silent.

but the winner this week…a heartwarming moment.

Sweet Boy#2–Is happily playing Lego Indiana Jones for the first time when a giant Lego spider stalks onto the screen. Sweet Boy#2 screams and makes Indiana Jones run for his life. I can tell he is really scared. But never fear, his little brother is playing with him and with a fierce battle cry he lays into that Lego spider like there is no tomorrow smashing it to bits and saving his brother’s life. They proceed with the game, Sweet Boy#2 taking the lead until a spider appears and then rushing to hide while Sweet Boy#3 has a chance to shine as the official spider bludgeoner.
