Harrowing/Heartwarming Parent Moment of the Week

The Harrowing/Heartwarming Parent Moment of the Week

Sweet Boy#3–Cuts his own hair.

Sweet Boy#2–Bends over to look into our bathtub, which was full of water and “grow animals”. Just then Sweet Boy#1 sneeks up bahind him, gives a little push, and shoves him into the tub head-first.

Sweet Boy#3–Peed on the coffee table. Don’t worry, it has been well sanitized…again.

Sweet Boy#3–I was preparing Ramen noodles for lunch. My youngest graciously asked if I would like him to make the block of noodles smaller by cutting them in half with a pair of children’s scissors. I declined, breaking his heart.

The boys made cars out of cardboard boxes with their Daddy for AWANA this week. On Thursday we ate dinner and watched a movie sitting in the cars. So fun. And then there was a demolition derby in the kitchen in which a furious amount of crashing rendered all three cars into a pile of shredded cardboard. Good times.

The boys packed their bags to go see the cousins this week. Sweet Boy#2 packed a yo yo, boy scout knot tying string, and his library card…for our library here in Chelan County…which is no where near the cousins library on the Olympic peninsula.

The winner this week…

Our boys play many many imaginary games. They have been dragons and treemonsters, kitties and himalayan pika, monitor lizards and various kinds of bats. But this week they were something entirely new. I caught them pretending that each of them was a “single bunny slipper”, not a pair but a single slipper mind you, with glowing red eyes.

Kristen

I promise you a crazed animal, a concussion, and a kiss in every single book...you're welcome!
