What did I learn from my reading this week…

That some books really are gender specific.

I am rereading The Gallagher Girls Series by Ally Carter this week in anticipation of the release of the final novel in her girl spy series. These books are just so so good. But I am always reading funny quotes to the Hunky Hubby and he doesn’t really laugh all that much. Then I read a few quotes to Zoe, one of our girl counselors who just wandered up last night. She laughed and laughed and I realized that these really can only be appreciated by girls. Such good books, but they don’t speak to my husband. And that is ok, and maybe it is ok that the stuff I write doesn’t really speak to him either. Because I don’t write for him, I write for girls too.
